Get the Most Relevant Projects, Phone Consults and Jobs by Updating Your Profile

Part of becoming an Expert on Zintro is creating a profile that shows Clients your experience and qualifications. It’s important to complete your profile and keep it updated. In fact, optimizing your Expert Profile will have a significant impact on the number of relevant inquiries you receive on Zintro.

First, it improves the placement of your profile in search results so Clients will find you first. Second, it allows Zintro’s matching algorithm to work better so that you receive relevant email notifications. Finally, an updated profile maximizes the percentage of Inquiries that convert, whether it’s into paid consults or high-quality leads for future engagements.

Maintaining your profile is crucial, so we developed a list of section-by-section tips to ensure you get the highest value from your Zintro account.

Including a profile picture can increase the chances that a Client will engage with you. As a matter of fact, profile pictures can increase engagement by up to 14 percent,  according to studies performed by multiple social media platforms. Zintro actually boosts your search ranking when you include a picture in your profile. If you are too uncomfortable to add a picture of yourself, use a company logo or other image to differentiate you from generic silhouettes.

  • Use a clean background.
  • Stand in natural light.
  • Make sure you are the only person in the picture.
  • Try to appear approachable.
  • Aim for a standard resolution of 300×300 px.
  • If you have a good picture in LinkedIn, you can save it by right clicking

The “About” section is your opportunity to highlight the most impressive aspects of your CV. We’ve found that Experts who get selected consistently for projects tend to have the most well-written and brief descriptions.

  • Shoot for a total of 1-2 paragraphs.
  • The description should be no more than 15 lines.
  • Include appropriate keywords.

You want as many Clients as possible to read your profile (within your areas of expertise). That’s why you should capture their attention with your headline. What do you offer Clients in terms of your knowledge and professional experience?

  • Read through the profile headlines of Experts in your industry.
  • Consider your value proposition.
  • Answer the question, “Why should I hire you?”

LinkedIn Profile Link

Maintaining multiple profiles is time-consuming.  For that reason, Zintro allows experts to include a link to their LinkedIn profile, in the LINKS section of the Zintro profile.  That way, Zintro’s clients (and matching algorithm) see your summary data and areas of expertise directly in the Zintro profile, but serious clients can access your detailed information by looking at your LinkedIn profile.

Also, feel free to include a link to your Zintro profile in your LinkedIn profile.  This will help to make sure that you get found by your target prospects.

  • Make sure your LinkedIn profile supports your Zintro profile.
  • Include links to professional profiles on social media as well.
  • Do you have a website? Include this link too.

Areas of Expertise/Matches

Zintro uses a Search & Matching engine to find the projects that are pertinent to your qualifications. The “Areas of Expertise” section has the biggest impact on the process. Get the best results by using keywords that are close to the search terms a Client would enter when looking for an Expert.

The keywords you use to fill out the “Areas of Expertise” section also affect the results you receive in MATCHES. This is where you will see live projects, phone consults and jobs well-suited to the areas of expertise you entered.

  • Put each Area of Expertise in a separate field.
  • Avoid general areas that will draw unwanted Inquiries such as “Marketing” or “Accounting.”
  • Describe the same area of expertise in multiple ways. (Area 1: Photovoltaics Area 2: PV)
  • Test your profile to see where you appear in search results and make changes if necessary.
